Lady Eagles V. Iredell Lady Dragons
On Tuesday, the Morgan Lady Eagles went against the Iredell Lady Dragons at their place. Iredell has always been the Lady Eagles’ most difficult competition and they knew they had to work hard to try to win. Julie Monroy (#22) won the tipoff, but the Lady Dragons ended up getting a rebound from a missed shot and scored a three. Fortunately, this didn’t phase the Lady Eagles and by the end of the first quarter, the score was 10-11, with Morgan up by one. Thanks to some of the Lady Eagles scoring a few threes, they were only down by two going into the half. The score stayed relatively close in the third quarter, but the Lady Dragons gained a larger lead in the fourth quarter. Although the girls were almost down by 15, they never gave up and kept hustling throughout the fourth quarter. The final score was 57-46, but the Lady Eagles were proud of their efforts and staying in the game the whole time. The rest of the Morgan community is ready to see the Lady Eagles take on the Lady Dragons again, but at home this time towards the end of January. We all know they’re going to keep their losses low and keep the winning up!
