The Morgan Eagles hosted the Lingleville Cardinals on a mosquito-infested night. The Eagles made it 22-6 after the first quarter to warm up their offense. They would go on and score 37 points in the 2nd quarter to end the game at the half. It seemed the Eagles offense has continued to put points on the scoreboard. The Eagles were able to spread the football around and made some adjustments at the beginning of the second quarter to keep the Cardinals from scoring. Derik Davenport ran 4 times for 73 yards and passed 4 out of 6 times for 26 yards with 3 touchdown passes, and he had 1 forced fumble and a 65 yard Interception run. Ivan Alvarez ran 3 times for 55 yards with 1 touchdown. Manuel Muniz ran a 24 yard touchdown, caught a pass 75 yards from Gerardo Monroy for a touchdown. Other notables: Dathen Davenport scored a 2 yard touchdown, Tony Conner caught a 12 yard touchdown pass, and Kason Sims caught a 12 yard touchdown pass as well, Adrian Vera-Rico caught a 45 yard touchdown pass from Muniz and ran a 30 yard touchdown. Mark Anthony Garcia had 2 fumble recoveries. The Morgan Eagles will travel to Eden next Friday to battle the Bulldogs at their homecoming game.
Final Score 59-12
