Family Reading Night

Last week Morgan ISD had a Book Fair. Tuesday October 15th Mrs. Whalen, the librarian, and Mrs. Pat planned a day for the readers and their families to come up to the school and volunteers to read to the kids. At this Family Reading Night they had food such as cupcakes and covered pretzels, and drinks like water and Ms. Perla’s famous “polar pee.”  While some people were getting food and something to drink, others bought books or sat down and got ready for story time. During story time, football players and other volunteers read to the kids. One volunteer even dressed up as one of the characters in the book; it was amazing. The night ended well, and the Family Reading Night was a success. Many books were sold which helps our school library raise money for new books.  We would like to thank Mrs. Whalen and Mrs. Pat for planning this event as well as everyone that stayed and helped.
