Morgan Eagles 62nd Tournament Champions

This year the Morgan Eagles had their 62nd RW McGehee Morgan Invitational Tournament which is said to be the longest lasting tournament in the country. This tournament for Morgan was started by former Coach R.W. McGehee. In the 62nd tournament the Morgan Eagles went against the Penelope Wolverines for their first game and won with the final score being 55-47. Our game Friday was against the Cranfills Gap Lions. This game was a high scoring game with the final score being 72-63. Saturday afternoon the boys played in the championship game against the Evant Elks. We didn’t have a lot of hope going into this game since our boys lost to the Elks earlier this season, but boy were we wrong! The 1st quarter was a neck and neck kind of game. After that the Morgan Eagles drove it home by getting ahead with their points and in the end the Morgan Eagles had a final score of 82-68. I find this score quit ironic since this was the only school to beat us yet it’s the biggest gap between points for the Morgan Eagles tournament. With this game over, the Morgan Eagles won the 62nd R.W. McGehee Morgan Tournament for all of Morgan I.S.D.  Great job Eagles!
