Welcome to Morgan ISD!
Today is Friday, November 2, 2018 and as I sit in my office writing this post I kept asking what I should write about. Then it dawned on me, it's easy, write about being thankful; this is the month for that type of thing.
In the movie The Pursuit of Happiness with Will and Jaden Smith, Jaden's young character tells his dad, Will Smith, a joke. In the joke he tells of a man who is drowning and is praying for help. There are two people on boats who come by to help but he refuses help because he was waiting on something bigger. After those two boats pass the man can no longer swim and drowns. When the man who drowns gets to heaven, he ask God why he never came to save him. God's response is "I sent you two boats, what more did you want?"
When I first began searching for a teaching job I just kept telling my friends and family, I just want a chance to teach and coach. I interviewed for several places and was told no. It was pretty discouraging honestly. Then I was told about a small school who was looking to hire some teachers. I was about to send that boat on its way because it was smaller than I had envisioned. But wouldn't you know it was actually the perfect size boat for me.
My time here in Morgan has given me the chance to do so many things I am passionate about in life. I have been a head basketball coach on three different occasions and each time was a special moment for me. I can remember each young adult I had the chance to coach. I was given the chance to teach history and share my knowledge. I have been able to help support and grow the minds and thoughts of so many young adults.
I am thankful that Mr. Bryant gave me the chance to get on this boat. I am thankful that every student here has given me the chance to either coach them or teach them at some point. I am thankful for the staff here, both current and past, who have helped me grow as a principal and teacher. And I am thankful to you parents for letting me have the chance to get to coach and teach your children.
It's November, so let's make sure we share why we are thankful this month.

MHS SENIOR NIGHT 2018
Even though the Morgan High School varsity football won their last home game, it wasn’t the only reason all of our Senior class celebrated. Senior Night was one to remember, whether for our victory over Bynum, but definitely for our football players and cheerleaders who played/cheered their final home game as part of the Eagle football team/cheer squad. This night brought tears of sadness, joy, and above all tears of the Mighty Green Pride! As a Senior who took part in this tradition, I can say it was a great way to finish off our last football/cheer on the field where we all started our Morgan High School experience. For some of us who didn’t take part in Football/Cheerleading, the rest of us participated in Cross Country.
