The Morgan Eagles faced the Kopperl Eagles in Kopperl for the district championship. The winds were cold and the rain still kept coming down since before the first quarter. The game also had some delays due to lightning a couple of times. The field was already muddy before the game started which made the Morgan Eagles struggle. As the game went on, the Morgan Eagles couldn’t keep up with the Kopperl Eagles due to the lack of not being able to move around in the mud. The biggest misfortune the Morgan Eagles had was the penalties called on them. They had 4 TD’s called back due to flags on the field. These meaningless penalties cost them the touchdowns needed in order to win the game. This game is something very important to learn from due to all the mistakes made on the field. The Morgan Eagles finished 2-1 for the end of the regular season. The Morgan Eagles will also be going to the playoffs for the second year in a row. They play in Hico against the Iredell Dragons on Friday, November 16. Go Eagles!
