Morgan Lady Eagles V. Blum Lady Bobcats

For their third district game, the Lady Eagles went up against tough competition, the Blum Lady Bobcats. Although the Lady Bobcats won the tip-off and got the first point, Amber Bridges (#15) got the ball rolling by scoring two points from under the basket. By halftime the Lady Eagles were up by 6 with a score 26-20. The ladies knew they had to keep playing their hardest if they wanted to stay undefeated in district. Amber again started the half off with a steal and the crowd was already on their feet. Both Nia and Mailei Aviles (#3 and #10) manned up on Blum’s best played and helped the Lady Eagles gain a nine point lead. Unfortunately, this lead quickly deteriorated and the fourth quarter started with a score of 33-32. Luckily, a teammate on the Lady Bobcats received a technical foul after fouling Mia Garcia (#14) at the end of the fourth quarter and Mia made three out of her four free throws. The final score ended up being 43-35 and the Lady Eagles are beyond excited to be 3-0 in district. The girls are ready to compete against Iredell this Friday, so come out and support!
